HERDING TRAINING
BEGINNER SHEEP HERDING CLASS
Beginner Class gives you and your dog an introduction to sheep herding and tests your dog’s instinct on sheep. This class is suitable for dogs and handlers that have never worked on stock before. Suitable for dogs of any age including pups of any age that have had at least two vaccinations.
What we cover in the class:
- Introduction to sheep herding
- Test your dogs instinct on sheep
- Suitable for handlers and dogs that have not worked stock before and/or have never trained with me
Class Details and Pricing
- 10 spots per class
- 3 hour session - $75 per spot (including GST)
INTERMEDIATE SHEEP HERDING CLASS
Intermediate Class bridges the gap between Beginner and Novice classes where you will learn the basics of sheep herding and begin handling your dog. This class is suitable for dogs and handlers that have completed Beginner Herding Class, a private herding lesson or have completed instinct testing at another facility and want to build their skills before attending Novice Class. This class allows you to have the framework to advanced you and your dog’s skills further in Novice class. This class is suitable for dogs of any age including pups of any age that have had at least two vaccinations.
What we cover in the class:
- Introduction to basic dog and handler skills for sheep herding
- Transition from trainer handling the dog for instinct testing to you handling your dog
- Learn what the goal is when working our dogs on stock and how to read the stock and dog
- Introduction to balancing, positioning and getting you and your dog in the right mindset to work
Class Details and Pricing
- Classes run once a month (on either a Saturday or Sunday) at 8-10am
- 6 spots per class
- 2 hour class - $100 per spot (inclusding GST)
- One dog per spot
NOVICE SHEEP HERDING CLASS
Novice Classes are regular group classes where you work your dog on sheep beyond the basics. As of May 2026, to attend this class, you must have attended a Beginner and Intermediate class and/or attended private lessons to a suitable level prior to attending Novice class. Clients currently attending Novice class prior to May 2026 are exempt from these prerequisites however, you may choose to attend Intermediate class as a refresher before returning to a Novice Class of your want to. This class is suitable for dogs of any age including pups of any age that have had at least two vaccinations.
What we cover in this class:
- Drop in style classes for handlers and dogs ready to advance their skills
- I teach you how to work your dog through instruction and demos to proof basic skills and work on more advanced skills
- Advance you and your dog in skills such as casting, off balance and driving, adding commands, penning, working the race, obstacles etc.
Class Details and Pricing
- 6 spots per class
- 2 hour session - $65 per spot (including GST)
- One dog per spot or an additional $22 (including GST) if you bring a second dog which can be paid at the time of your class (please note that is only applies to dogs from the same household)
PRIVATE SESSIONS - SHEEP
Private sheep sessions are run at my property in Burpengary East, QLD. They run as on-going training sessions subject to trainer availability. Suitable for dogs of any age including pups that have had at least 2 puppy vaccinations.
Session details:
- 1 hour session - $121 (including GST)
- One dog can attend or an additional $22 (including GST) for a second dog and additional $33 (including GST) for a third dog (please note that this only applies to dogs from the same household)
- For a shared session with friends or family from other households, please contact me by text or email
Please contact us for goat herding as suitability is subject to trainer’s discretion.
PRIVATE SESSIONS - CATTLE
Private cattle sessions are run at my property in Burpengary East, QLD. They run as on-going training sessions subject to trainer availability.
Session details:
- 1 hour session - $144 (including GST)
- One dog can attend or an additional $22 (including GST) for a second dog and additional $33 (including GST) for a third dog (please note that this only applies to dogs from the same household)
- You MUST have attended our sheep herding sessions prior to booking cattle herding - this allows us to assess your dog’s suitability for cattle work
- PLEASE NOTE: Due to possible safety risks with cattle, we have a minimum age requirement of 8 months old for dogs to attend our training
- For a shared session with friends or family from another household, please contact us
SPECIAL OCCASIONS AND EVENTS
I offer private herding sessions for special occasions and events. These are booked by appointment only and are subject to trainer availability. Pricing will be determined based on event type, length of session and number of dogs attending.
Special events may include:
- Instinct testing for litters of pups by breeder or group of new puppy owners with pups from the same litter
- Instinct testing of multiple dogs through a rescue organisation
- Breed club catch ups and celebrations
- Dog birthday celebrations and catch ups
- Friend group catch ups and celebrations
- Holiday events

Stock and yard Hire
Herding experienced dog and owner teams can hire our training livestock and yards/paddocks. This service is suitable for those that don’t require trainer instruction and just want to keep up their herding skills, practice for trials or to just have fun with their dog.
